Rules for creators and listeners using Music Coast.

These Community Guidelines and Acceptable Use Policy ("Guidelines") apply to musiccoast.com, our web applications, and our iOS/Android apps (the "Service"). They supplement our Terms of Service and help keep Music Coast safe and fair for everyone.

1. Be Respectful

Do not harass, threaten, or impersonate others. Do not post or send content that is hateful, discriminatory, or intended to incite violence.

2. Illegal or Dangerous Activity

Do not use the Service to promote or facilitate illegal activity. Do not upload malware or attempt to interfere with the Service’s operation, security, or integrity.

3. Intellectual Property and Upload Rules

Only upload music, artwork, and other materials that you own or that you are authorized to use and license to Music Coast. This includes rights in both:

  • Sound recordings (master rights) - the actual recording; and
  • Musical works (composition/publishing rights) - the underlying songwriting (notes and lyrics).

Do not upload:

  • music you do not own or control;
  • covers, remixes, mashups, DJ mixes, or sampled works unless you have written permission from all relevant rightsholders;
  • artwork, photos, logos, or trademarks you do not have the right to use;
  • content that violates the rights of performers, producers, labels, writers, publishers, or any other third party.

We may request documentation of your rights or clearances. Failure to provide proof may result in removal of content or account action.

4. Accurate Metadata

Provide accurate and complete metadata (artist name, track title, contributors, and where available: ISRC, songwriter and publisher information). Misleading metadata may cause content to be removed.

5. No Fraud, Bots, or Play Manipulation

Do not artificially inflate plays, followers, or engagement. Prohibited behavior includes automation, bots, click-farms, incentivized plays, misleading promotions, or any attempt to manipulate monetization metrics.

6. Content Moderation and Enforcement

We may remove content or restrict accounts for violations of these Guidelines, our Terms, or applicable law. Actions may include warnings, removal of uploads, monetization suspension, account suspension, or termination.

In appropriate circumstances, we may terminate accounts of repeat copyright infringers.

7. Reporting

If you believe content violates these Guidelines or infringes your rights, please report it using the contact information or reporting tools available on the Service. Copyright complaints should follow our Copyright & DMCA Policy.

8. Updates

We may update these Guidelines from time to time. The "Last Updated" date indicates when the latest changes were made.
